Users can easily activate the emotion recognition feature in WhatsApp by going to Settings > Privacy > Emotional Insights and toggling it on. After activation, a short onboarding guide appears, explaining how the feature works with examples. It highlights how emotional cues appear subtly during chats to enhance understanding, with clear instructions to manage or disable it anytime.

When a user activates Tender from a WhatsApp chat, they are seamlessly redirected to the Tender interface. This UI offers a deeper emotional view of the conversation, showing mood trends, tone shifts, and empathy suggestions. It enhances emotional clarity, helping users connect on a more thoughtful and compassionate level.

If a user types something with swearing or harsh language, Tender detects it and gently offers kinder, emotionally aware alternatives. It suggests rephrased versions that maintain the message but promote empathy and respect. This helps users communicate more thoughtfully, avoiding conflict and fostering healthier, more considerate conversations.

With Tender, users can check the emotions within their messages and those they receive. It highlights emotional tones like joy, anger, or sadness using subtle indicators. This helps users better understand the emotional context of conversations, leading to deeper empathy, improved communication, and more meaningful interactions with their contacts.

Tender provides users with a personal emotion report based on their chat history. It shows which emotions they express most—like happiness, frustration, or care—over time. This insight helps users reflect on their communication habits, recognize emotional patterns, and grow more aware and intentional in how they connect with others.

Teder. This project, created during my studies, focuses on a function for WhatsApp where users can set the emotional tone of their messages. The feature adjusts the text to make messages more pleasant, friendly, or empathetic based on the chosen emotion. It aims to enhance communication by helping users express themselves better, ensuring messages come across with the right emotional tone, creating a more thoughtful and engaging messaging experience.
